Description
Dear Learner,
Hello and welcome to part one of this BSL Level two series, continuing the learning from our very popular Level one series.
This app starts your learning by introducing you to the features of the language. You will be required to use and recognise these in the Level two assessments of the nationally recognised awarding body. These features include placement, referent, roleshift, directional verbs, multi-channel signs, non-manual features (NMF), classifiers, rhetorical questions, correct BSL order and correct BSL context. After each feature is explained, examples of how to use them are shown, either by short presentations, conversations or both.
The app then continues on to present some Level two vocabulary under the topic headings of "holidays and travel" and "eating and drinking". You will see several short stories presented using the vocabulary, and at the end of each topic (holidays and travel, and eating and drinking) you will see a sample conversation like the ones in the awarding bodys assessment - currently called unit 203.
This app has fully subtitled replays throughout. It is recommended you make good use of your pause button to make notes, scroll back and replay, to avoid watching subtitled sections until you are ready, and to practice using the signs yourself.
It is recommended that you continue on to Level one, part two, for the full Level two programme. However, this is not mandatory, particularly if you are just brushing up on certain areas of BSL contained within this app.
Good luck with your learning, and we always value your questions, comments and feedback. It is our aim to produce good quality learning at affordable prices.
